Bilibili video downloader: danmaku, multi-part collections and quality tiers

Most likely the tool is not at fault - your account cannot reach that stream. Bilibili gates its higher quality tiers: 1080p usually needs a login, and anything above that needs a Premium membership.

Check that you are signed in inside the browser, and that the tier really is in the player's quality menu. If it is not in the menu, no download will produce it.

Danmaku saves as a timeline data file, usually XML. Open the video in a local player that supports danmaku, keep the danmaku file in the same folder under the same name, and most players match it up automatically.

Some tools burn danmaku into the picture instead, but then it is part of the pixels and you can never switch it off.

Bilibili Download Helper lets you tick items or select all on a collection page. Because the item list comes straight from the API rather than from simulated scrolling, completeness is good and nothing gets missed.

yt-dlp handles it too, with incremental resume, which suits archiving an entire uploader.

If you hold a Premium membership yourself and it plays normally, those tiers can generally be downloaded. we do not provide any method for getting around the membership gate to reach paid content - that kind of technical protection should not be circumvented, and plenty of jurisdictions prohibit it outright.

The official Bilibili app also has its own caching feature, which is the compliant way to watch offline and less hassle than any third-party tool.
