9Convert is an online download and conversion site that serves YouTube only. Its feature set is very narrow: it turns YouTube videos into MP4 or MP3, and nothing else. That minimal focus makes its flow shorter than multi-purpose tools.

Its main use is turning a single YouTube video into an MP3 on the spot. No software to install, no sign-up, and it works in the browser on any device.

To be straight about its problems: there are lots of ads and fake download buttons, the usual issue with ad-funded online tools. Which one is the real download button on the page?

The rule of thumb: the real entry is usually a small button or text link in the parsed results list, not the biggest, flashiest colored button on the page. Those are mostly ads.

Close anything that does any of the following: redirects to an unfamiliar domain, asks you to install a "download accelerator" or browser extension, or asks you to allow site notifications.

Why does my downloaded video have no sound?

Because above 1080p the video and audio tracks are stored separately, and turning them into one file with sound means muxing on the server. A free service will not do that for every request, so you get the video track alone.

To reliably get HD files with sound, use a tool that runs on your machine: yt-dlp or Stacher. They merge locally, so this cost limit does not apply.
